Author and Motivational Speaker
L.A. Black Parent: What is your most recent book? Tell us a bit about it.
Regina: My most recent book is "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?". This book comes out in August 2014 and focuses on love from a biblical perspective. It gives the attributes of love and provides the who, what, when, where, how, and why we are to love others. It also includes a few scenario's that everyone can relate to and possibly see themselves or someone they know. And there's a part that deals with living up to others expectations. I really enjoyed writing this book!
L.A. Black Parent: Tell us something about yourself.
Regina: I am just your average person. What I mean by that is, I am a person who desires to live life as God would have me to live which includes being the best me that I can be. A part of that includes working daily on improving my life and helping to lift others.I believe one should make the best of each day as we never know when it's our last or the last for those we love.
I am a mother of 2 children; Kendrick Thomas and Emily Mixon and the grandmother of 3--Kimmerlie Thomas, Khrystal Thomas and Jordan D. Gilliam. I love God, I love people, I love encouraging, uplifting, and prayerfully motivating people to be the best that they can be.
I take no one or anything for granted but thank God each and every day for the resources he sends my way.
I love my family! I absolutely love my dysfunctional family! And I have met some great family members that are not blood-related byt related by the blood of the Lamb. There are some just as high-strung and neurotic as I am and I love them too!
One of my many mantra's is actually from a song--"If I can just help somebody as I travel through this land, then my living shall not be in vain." I want to be remembered as someone who not only talked the talk but walked the walk.
L.A. Black Parent: What inspired you to write this book?
Regina: I was inspired to write this book actually by a comment someone made several years ago. For some reason, I could not shake the comment. I said to this person that I loved them and the response was "people throw the word love around so loosley without having a clue what it means". That stuck with me for many years. Then I believe God himself just said--"Look up and learn what love really is and share it with others" so I wrote the book.
L.A. Black Parent: How did you choose the title?
Regina: Again, I believe it to be God-inspired.
L.A. Black Parent: What do you like to do when you're not writing?
Regina: I love to enjoy life by spending time with my family and friends. I am a jokester and love to clown around. Some find me a bit hard to take but I'm okay with me. I am serious when I need to be but I play a lot. I love to TRY to dance. I like dominoes and some sports. I love going out to various restaurants trying new dishes. I love speaking and encouraging people. I have so many things I love to do it's hard to share in this space. I love my job with Social Security. I love REGS Books and God's Storehouse Ministries. I love worship and praising God and fellowshipping with other believers. I love to see unbelievers become believers by just sharing and giving them hope. I love to do too much! Lol
L.A. Black Parent: Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
Regina: I honestly don't hear from my readers much. Every now and then I'll get a message from someone that's read one of my books. The way I connect most though with my readers is through social media. I hope to hear from them more in the future; to be able to really connect. It's hard working a full-time job and doing some of the other things I do but the bills got to be paid. :)
L.A. Black Parent: Tell us your latest news?
Regina: My latest news is God's Storehouse Ministries and REGS Books both are fully launching! I thank God that now is the set time. I am seeing so many manifestations of things God promised! I will soon be doing a book tour to include 7 states. God is amazing! REGS Books has a new author coming out in November 2014 which people will read more about soon. There is so much going on all I can say is --To God be the Glory!
