Disneyland was perfect! My friend and her daughter were a part of this outing. We chose to go to Disneyland on a Wednesday in July and there wasn't a very large crowd. There were a lot of people there but not the same amount of people a weekend day would bring. There were a lot of tourists from all over the world. While we were in line waiting on the rides I heard so many different languages and accents. The lines weren't as long as I thought they would be on any day. The Fast Pass tickets were a big help and so was the Disneyland App that shows how long the wait will be for each ride. The girls were excited and ready to get on some rides.
When you plan to visit Disneyland make sure you arrive early. Try to get there when they open or at least before 11am. Otherwise, you will be waiting in line for a minute to get through security lines as well as the ticket lines. Once you get into the park you must buy your Mickey or Minnie ears or hat. My friend's daughter already had her ears. My daughter really wanted the ears too. However, I was thinking more like a parent and bought her the Minnie Mouse hat with the ears to protect her from the sun. It's one of those things where she'll understand when she becomes a parent. If you are undecided on your first ride you may want to hop on the Disneyland Railroad. It's a nice slow train ride that will take you around the park. A lot of people use it to get from one side of the park to the other. As soon as we arrived we took a stroll down Main Street and walked up on a parade with all of the Disney characters. My first stop is always to Fantasy land for the It's a Small World ride. I loved it as a kid and still love it as an adult.
Disneyland is a very large amusement park with a whole lot to do. They even have another park across the way. We spent most of our time at Disneyland and later went on over to California Adventure for a few hours. Disneyland's California Adventure is a fun park with a lot to see and a bunch of great shows. However, we weren't able to see the Frozen Musical since it was sold out. We were told that you would have had to have gotten there very early to reserve your space at the show. My daughter loves Frozen so we were really looking forward to seeing the show. We went to see the Disney Junior live on Stage Show and it was amazing. We love Doc McStuffins and Sophia The First and they were both a part of the live show. California Adventure also wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. We were able to just walk on just about all of the rides with little or no wait in lines. In fact, my friend's daughter was able to get on Goofy's Sky School twice in a row without having to wait in a long line. That was awesome. We were able to head back on over to Disneyland to catch a few more rides before the parade and fireworks show.
The very last time my daughter and I visited Disneyland we were not able to ride on the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride or the Autopia ride because of the extremely long lines so we made it a point to ride these two rides. We stood in a long line to ride the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride. However, the line still wasn't as long as I have seen it. It was so nice to sit down after standing in line so long. We enjoyed the ride and seeing Nemo. My daughter loved the Autopia ride. We actually stood in line and rode on it twice. Kids get to drive! While we were standing in line someone came and passed out driver's licenses to everyone and you have the option of paying a small fee after the ride to get a real Autopia driver's license. Mickey's Toontown is the perfect place for the little ones to play, run around, explore, and meet their favorite Disney characters. There are so many fun rides and great foods to choose from.
I have to mention how awesome the Disneyland Paint the Night Parade was. We absolutely loved it. My friend took me to a nice little cozy spot on the front porch of one of the buildings on Main Street where I sat in a chair and watched the whole entire parade and Fireworks show. I only wish I could have videotaped or taken better pictures of the Disneyland Paint the Night Parade. The things they did with the lights was unbelievable. All of the characters had a part in the parade. There were people lining up hours before to watch this parade. If you find yourself on a ride at the time of the parade there will be another parade later before the park closes. Besides, we all know that when a big parade or show is going on that is the best time to ride the rides.
It's so nice to watch how excited kids get when you tell them that you are going to Disneyland. Mr. Walt Disney had a great idea to create a great magical, clean, and fun place for both children and their parents. That was one of the best things I think anyone could have done. Think about it, people come from all over the place to visit Disneyland. The parents are having just as much fun as the kids are. The park is always clean and well taken care of. The variety of foods are great. The entertainment is out of this world.
My blog post isn't about navigating the magical kingdom of Disneyland or which ride is better. It's more about sharing my experience and my thoughts about Disneyland. Disneyland is called "the happiest place on earth." It just gives almost everyone such a great feeling just being there. Each one of their employees I came in contact with from the gift shop to the restaurant were overly nice. A visit to Disneyland is a perfect family outing. In my opinion, Disneyland has a lot to offer from the rides to the food to the entertainment which makes it well worth the ticket prices.
Discount Tickets: Try going to the California Welcome Center. Occasionally you will find that their tickets are cheaper. I recommend that you call to ask and make sure you have the date that you are planning your visit.
Question: What do you like most about Disneyland? What is your favorite ride?
Enjoy your next trip to Disneyland!
